About Boston Warwick
Boston Warwick is a London-based aviation advisory and research firm, registered in England in 2022 and led by James Doyle. It works with airlines, airports, lessors and MROs, and with the banks, private equity firms and institutional investors behind them, on fleet strategy, fleet valuations, flight operations and mergers and acquisitions.
What does Boston Warwick do?
Advisory work covers deal strategy from origination through to close: due diligence, valuation and structuring for aviation assets and transactions, and fleet and commercial strategy for operators. Alongside it, Boston Warwick publishes research reports and a weekly Insights briefing. Recent reports have covered jet fuel supply after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, engine durability on the Pratt & Whitney GTF, and MRO capacity. The analysis draws on more than 50 industry data sources.

Boston Warwick runs a lean model. James leads every assignment and brings in specialist consultants when a project needs particular expertise, so clients get senior attention without paying for a large standing team.

Who is behind Boston Warwick?
James Doyle FRAeS founded Boston Warwick and leads its work. Through the firm he has worked with Swissport and Avcair, and before that with Emirates, TNT, DHL and Kuehne + Nagel, across airlines, airports, ground handling and air cargo.
James works directly with many of Boston Warwick's clients. He follows the industry closely and writes and speaks on the subjects Boston Warwick has published on this year:
- 01
Fuel and supply security
The jet fuel shortages that followed the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which airports in Europe and beyond are most exposed, and the move by airlines to treat sustainable aviation fuel as a supply question as much as an environmental one.
Read the analysis - 02
Engines and maintenance
Engine durability, the queue for shop visits and the shortage of MRO capacity and engineers, and why that keeps older aircraft flying for longer.
Read the analysis - 03
Aircraft values and leasing
What tight supply means for narrowbody values, how lessors are buying into the aftermarket, and what airline failures such as airBaltic's Chapter 11 filing mean for the lessors behind them.
Read the analysis - 04
Consolidation and deals
easyJet's change of ownership, Lufthansa's moves on TAP and its software business, and the large Boeing and Airbus orders placed this year.
Read the analysis - 05
Airports and capacity
Expansion plans at airports such as London Gatwick Airport, UK (LGW/EGKK) and Birmingham Airport, UK (BHX/EGBB), and the gap between forecast passenger growth and the infrastructure built to carry it.
